The Papal Coin was minted to commemorate
Pope John Paul II on the occasion of
the Jubilaeum 2000, also the year of his
80th birthday. The coin is issued under
the authority of the Knights of Malta-Sovereign
Order of the Hospitallers of St. John of
Jerusalem and will be the first coin
in a series of many other highly-appreciated
collectible coins to be minted by the B.H.
Mayer's Mint for GoldQuest International.
On May 17, 2000, the eve of the Pope's 80th

of a private audience with Pope John Paul II
at the Vatican.
